Happy Labor Day from CLAS!

Happy Labor Day!

This year Labor Day will be on Monday, September 2. Labor Day honors the social and economic achievements of American workers.

The first Labor Day was held in 1882, with the first governmental recognition coming from ordinances passed in 1885 and 1886. Over time, more and more states adopted the holiday.

Labor Day is often celebrated as a day of rest and is viewed by many as a last chance for relaxation and recreation before the end of summer. Traditionally, the holiday featured parades, barbecues, and festivals. In modern times, addresses by union officials, industrialists, educators, and government officials have also became popular as more emphasis is placed upon the economic and civic significance of the holiday.

We at CLAS thank you for your business and wish you and yours a happy and safe Labor Day celebration.
